Homemade Bread Recipes: You’ll Never Buy Bread Again

If you usually buy bread from a market, you should know that it is packed with additives. These additives are often quite toxic and can be detrimental to your health. Fortunately, we prepared for you several bread recipes, which you can prepare at home. These recipes are a healthier choice, as they are gluten free. Moreover, they can be mad with kombucha sourdough and whole wheat flour.

Homemade Yeast Bread Recipes

It is recommended that you use SAF-INSTANT yeast, which does not require proofing.

Basic Sandwich Bread


  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/3 cups water to equal
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon instant yeast/bread machine yeast or 2 teaspoons active dry yeast


You should mix all the ingredients using a mixer or bread machine until you get a homogenous mixture. However, if you choose the mix it by hand, mix all ingredients except the flour. Then, add the flour gradually and mix it well with the other ingredients. When the dough is stiff, it is mixed further with hands for about 5 – 10 minutes.

Then, cover the dough and let it stay for 20 minutes. It will rise almost the double in size. Next, you should divide it into the desired number of buns or loaves. Grease a baking pan or cover it with a baking paper and place them. Bake buns for 15 minutes and bread for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Basic Sourdough Bread


  • 2 1/3 cups fresh sourdough starter
  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 ½ cup (approximate) water
  • little tablespoon salt


Mix all the ingredients, except the water. Knead the dough until it is thin enough to allow the light to pass through when it is stretched between four fingers. Then, shape it into a loaf and let it rise to a double in size. Next, reshape it again and place it in a baking pan. Bake it for 30-60 minutes at 400 degrees.

Potato Bread Recipe


  • 7 ounces of mashed potatoes
  • 2 ½ tablespoons sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast or 1 ½ teaspoon saf – instant yeast


First prepare the mashed potatoes. Then, put all the ingredients in a kitchen machine and mix for 6-8 minutes while adding flour. However, if you knead it by hand, mix all the ingredients, except the flour. Next, add the flour. The dough might be a little bit stickier. Let it rise for 20 minutes, punch it down, and let it rise again. Bake at 375 degrees F for 40-45 minutes.

French Bread Recipe


  • 1 ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Saf-instant yeast or 1 tablespoon bread machine yeast
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour


  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Start by mixing the sugar, yeast and salt and dissolve them in warm water. Then, add flour cup by cup until the dough is firm. Let it rise for 20 minutes, punch down and allow to rise again until double in size. Next, place it in greased pan and let it rise again. Brush the loaf with the glaze and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
