Ingredients:
- cinnamon sticks
- pure olive oil (refined)
Preparation:
At first put your cinnamon sticks in a jar of your choice. Pour over some quality olive oil and make sure it covers the sticks completely, then out the lid on and keep at room temperature for about 3 weeks.
Shake the content every day. After 3 weeks, strain the oil, and cheesecloths work fine for this purpose.
Transfer the oil into a dark glass bottle,and your cinnamon oil is ready for use.
The number of cinnamon sticks is not fixed but the jar should be filled completely (at least 5-6 cinnamon sticks in half a liter of olive oil). The more cinnamon sticks you use, the better your oil shall be.
In cases you can’t find cinnamon sticks, you can use cinnamon powder in the ratio of 1: 5 in relation to oil (100 grams of cinnamon powder to half a liter of olive oil). However, we recommend cinnamon sticks because through the long process of milling a lot of its health properties are being lost.
How you can use:
Cinnamon oil is a powerful antioxidant which prevents damage and protects cells from free radicals which can cause some of the most serious diseases and aging of the body.You can use it however you like. You can add it in already prepared meals or in cookies, salads depending on which taste you prefer, but we do not recommend a long-term heat treatment. Still, the best and the simplest use of cinnamon oil is to take 1-2 teaspoons, twice a day ( in the morning and evening). You can also use this oil for external use, so, rub it on painful, inflamed or otherwise affected places.
