Ginger, is one of the most powerful natural cures for multiple disease, has many different properties and uses. But did you know how powerful it really was when it comes to curing cancer?

A recent study shows that ginger is as powerful as turmeric when it comes to its effect on cancer cells. Moreover, the results showed that it’s even more effective than some cancer medications, which very often contributed to the cancer patients accelerated death.

In one of Georgia State University researches, it was proven that the prostate tumor size in mice was reduced by 56% with the help of a whole ginger extract. Besides been effective in killing cancer cells, ginger showed ability in the reduction of inflammation, as well as in life-enhancing antioxidants supply in mice.

Another study published in PLoS found that one particular component in ginger known as 6-shogaol is superior to conventional cancer medication, namely chemotherapy, at targeting the root cause of breast cancer malignancy: breast cancer stem cells.

These stem cells are also called ‘mother cells’ and they are the reason of the development of various types of cancer, not just the breast cancer. They produce so called ‘daughter cells’ which actually form a tumor colony. The cancer stem cells are practically immortal, since they can easily self- renew, thought they take around 0.2 to 1% of the cell part of the tumor. But the only way to get rid of the cancer cells in your body is to kill these cancer stem cells in tumor.

A new study discovered that the ginger component called 6-shogaol, has shown as super active when encountered with anti-cancer stem reaction. This component is created with drying or cooking of the ginger root. However, there’s another thing which makes  6-shogaol superior to cancer chemotherapy treatments.

This study also found, that in tests of the cancer drug taxol, it did not show the same level of effectiveness at destroying cancer stem cells and tumors as 6-shogaol. Even when the concentrations of taxol were increased, it was still found that 6-shogaol was 10,000 times more effective at killing cancer stem cells, stopping tumors from forming, and keeping healthy cells alive.

More research needs to be done to show how ‘modern cancer medicine’ is not as effective as natural medicines.e. But we must remember that we shouldn’t harm our bodies while trying to cure a disease.
