Anja Ringgren Loven,a social worker from Denmark was helping kids in Nigeria when she noticed this little, skinny boy and published a few heart-breaking photos of this little guy on her Facebook profile. The photos touched the hearts of many people all over the world.

This  2-year old little boy was abandoned by his parents since they thought he was a witch. The boy was left on by himself, and his condition was very bad when the Danish social worker found him.

He was wandering around the streets for whole 8 months and until Anja found him and took him under her wing. The woman provided him with proper medical care and gave him a name – Hope.

Recent photos show that the love and care for the boy have given amazing results. His condition significantly improved even though at first he looked like he was on the point to die.

Hope now looks like a healthy and happy boy. He has gained several pounds which can be noticed on the most recent photos.

Along with the photo, Anja wrote:

The day I carried this sweet little boy in my arms for the very first time I was so sure he would not survive. Every breath he took was a struggle and I did not want him to die without a name, without dignity, so I named him Hope. Hope to me is a special name. Not only the meaning of Hope, but what it stands for. Many years ago I got the name HOPE tattooed on my fingers because to me it means: Help One Person Everyday.”
